Epson L-6034VW Operation Guide Introduction 19 Caution When changing the width of the substrate, make sure there is no glue stuck to the opposite roller. If glue is stuck to the roller, glue spreads onto the substrate and adheres to the electrode axis, smoke could be emitted or fire could ignite. Make sure you remove any glue. When checking the corona treater, make sure you wear long sleeves and heat-resistant gloves that are capable of withstanding temperatures of 250˚C or more (example: AS ONE heat-resistant gloves, serial number: 1-2769-01, model number EGG-420). The electrode axis of the electrode cartridge remains extremely hot for a while after performing electrical discharge.
When removing the electrode cartridge, do not touch any areas except for the handle and the frame. If you touch any other areas, burns and injuries could occur. When an emergency stop is activated, the additional UV lamp curing unit and the corona treater may not have enough time to cool down. Since the area around the additional UV lamp curing unit and the corona treater remains extremely hot for a while after stopping, burns and injuries could occur. Make sure you take sufficient safety precautions. Do not disassemble ink cartridges. If it is disassembled, ink could get in your eyes or on your skin. Do not store ink cartridges within the reach of children.
When performing maintenance, make sure you wear safety glasses, gloves, and masks. If ink gets in the eyes or mouth, or stains the skin, treat the area as follows. ❏ If ink gets on your skin, wash the area immediately with soap and water. Consult your doctor immediately. ❏ If any gets in your eye, flush the eye for at least 15 minutes with clean water. If the irritation continues, consult your doctor. ❏ If any ink gets in your mouth, consult your doctor immediately. The press contains a light source that emits ultraviolet rays. Exposing skin or eyes to ultraviolet rays can cause inflammation or skin cancer.
Although exposure to weak ultraviolet rays may not cause inflammation, repeated exposure could cause chronic damage. Do not expose skin or eyes to ultraviolet rays. Do not rub the edges of the substrate with your hand. The edges of the substrate are thin and sharp and could cause an injury. When loading or removing roll substrate, be sure to secure appropriate personnel and appropriate transport equipment such as a lifter according to local laws on health and safety. You can install up to 100 kg of roll substrate (however, the maximum diameter is 600 mm).
Transporting, loading, or removing without following the instructions is extremely dangerous and could cause injuries such as trapping a hand or finger or dropping it on your foot. Wear safety footwear when handling roll substrate. Be sure to adopt a sensible lifting posture whenever you lift the roll substrate. If you do not use the correct posture, an injury could occur.
