A little smoke will be released when the seat belt tightener is triggered. This is a normal phenom- enon. Seat belt tighten limiter In the event of an accident, the seat belt tighten limiter reduces the pressure of the seat belt on the occupant. ● Never press the seat belt against hard or fragile objects such as glasses, pens or keys. ● Do not use seat belt clips, retainers, or simi- lar devices to change the direction of the seat belt. Comply with relevant safety regulations when scrapping a vehicle or system compo- nent. If the seat belt cannot be worn on the right part of the body due to physical reasons, you can contact Volkswagen dealership to make special modifications to the seat belt so that the seat belt and airbag can fully play a protective role. This modification shall be carried out by the qualified workshop. Belt tensioner service and disposal Please refer to at the start of the chapter on page 30. Belt retractor, Belt tensioner and Belt tension limiter The seat belt tensioner may be damaged during operation or when the relevant parts of the seat belt tensioner need to be disassembled for main- tenance of other parts of the vehicle.
The surface of the damaged seat belt may show no obvious signs of damage, but the actual damaged seat belt in an accident may cause the seat belt ten- sioner to not work properly or not work at all. Please refer to at the start of the chapter on page 30. The seat belt is an important part in the vehicle safety system → page 37, which has the follow- ing important functions: Ensure that the safety belt tensioner is protected to prevent injury or environmental pollution caused by the removed parts. Strictly comply with relevant laws and regulations when han- dling the removed parts.

Automatic seat belt retractor The shoulder belt of this car is equipped with au- tomatic retractor. The shoulder belt can be re- tractable at a slow pull or when the vehicle is travelling at normal speed. However, the shoul- der belt cannot be freely retractable due to quick pulling, emergency braking, automatic retractor locking the belt when driving on mountain roads or curves and accelerating.
WARNING If the safety belt, automatic seat belt retractor and seat belt ttensioner are improperly used or repaired by non-professional personnel, the seat belt tensioner may not trigger when they should or should not trigger in an accident, thus increasing the risk of injury or death. Seat belt tensioner In the case of serious frontal collision, side colli- sion and rear collision, the sensor triggers the seat belt better rate of development for electric vehicle, which will tighten the seat belt in the di- rection of rewinding and slow down the forward movement of the occupant, so as to protect the occupant.
