Side airbag When a side impact occurs, the system triggers the side airbag on the collision side to provide protection for the passenger body on the colli- sion side. Please refer to at the start of the chapter on page 37. When the vehicle collision triggers the airbag, the airbag instantly expands at high speed. WARNING ● There must be no objects within the expan- sion range of the side airbag that impede the expansion of the airbag. ● The occupants of the front seat and the out- side seat of the back seat must not hold chil- dren, pets or any other objects, otherwise, it will occupy the expansion space of the air bag. Both adults and children must obey this rule. Fig.
31 Left side of vehicle: Expansion range of side airbag ● The original coat and cap hook in the car can only be used to hang light clothing, clothing pockets do not load heavy or sharp objects. ● No accessories should be installed on the door! ● Seat sheathing (except for seat sheathing ex- pressly approved by us for use in this vehicle) shall not be installed on the seat under any circumstances, otherwise the side airbag may not deploy if triggered by an accident. WARNING Improper use of the driver's seat and front pas- senger seat may prevent side airbags from playing their protective role and result in seri- ous injury. Fig. 32 Left front seat side:
side airbag installation position and expansion range ● Do not remove the front seat from the vehi- cle or change the seat components. ● If too much pressure is applied to the side cushion of the backrest, the side airbag may not trigger properly, not trigger at all, or trig- ger when it should not. Depending on vehicle equipment, front seat can be equipped with side airbag → Fig. 31 : – Front seat side airbags are installed in the driv- er seat and front passenger seat outboard backrest upholstery → Fig. 32 . ● If the skin seams on the original seat skin or door airbag assembly are damaged, repair the damage at the qualified workshop as soon as possible.
