SAFETY Seat belt pre-tensioner(if equipped) Front seats are equipped with seatbelt pretensioners. In case of a serious collision, the front seatbelt pretensioners act to tighten the seatbelt so as to fix the occupants effectively and reduce the risk of injury. VESPER When the seatbelt pretensioner deploys, a small amount of powder (smoke) will be released and a loud noise may be heard. This is a normal phenomenon and will not cause a fire. The smoke and dust formed when the pretensioner deploys could cause skin and eye irritation in the event of prolonged exposure.
If the vehicle encounters multiple collisions, the pretensioner will be activated in the first collision, and it will not be activated again in the second and subsequent collisions. Warning! ■ Do not touch the seatbelt pretensioner once it detonates. In the case of a collision, the pretensioner will turn hot and may burn your skin. ■ After the seatbelt pretensioner detonates, replace it with a new one. ■ If your eyes and skin are infected with dust (smoke), flush your eyes and skin immediately.
